275 Trillion Won Blue Ocean... Korean Software Companies Enter Japan’s DX Market in Droves

Recently, major South Korean software (SW) companies have been actively expanding into the Japanese market, highlighting a clear trend of overseas expansion in the domestic IT industry. With the Japanese government designating digital transformation (DX) as a national priority and allocating substantial budgets to it, new business opportunities are opening up for Korean firms.

According to industry sources on the 4th, digital platform company PLATEER established its Japanese subsidiary, PLATEER Japan, last month as a strategic foothold for full-scale international business expansion.

PLATEER plans to first build its customer base in Japan with groobee, its AI-powered marketing technology (MarTech) solution offered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Following this, the company intends to expand further by introducing X2B, its AI e-commerce solution.

A PLATEER representative stated, “groobee has grown into a comprehensive AI MarTech solution in Korea, offering advanced segmentation, targeting, and messaging capabilities. However, in Japan, we aim to secure customers first by focusing on the rapidly growing demand for generative AI-based search and chatbot solutions.”
